My name is Randy Speckman and I'm a freelance graphic designer based out of Vista, California. Ever since I could remember, I've enjoyed drawing, painting, and working with my hands. I excelled in art classes learning the basics such as anatomy, life drawing, perspective, color theory and layout. At age 16, I won first prize in a drawing contest that included more than 5,000 entries. The winning projects were sent to an art museum in Russia as part of cultural art exchange. Although I would never see what had become my favorite drawing, it was an honor to be a part of that exchange. The recognition I received from that project sparked my dream to become a professional artist.

Following high school, I worked my way through college and earned an Associates of Fine Arts Degree in Commercial Art from Palomar College – San Marcos, California. Later I earned a career course certificate in Graphic Design at the Art Institutes – San Diego, California. Immediately following college, I spent four years as a full-time graphic designer for Ashworth and six years as the art director for Aqua Lung. That is where I gained a wide range of experience in print design, branding, marketing and web development within a manufacturing and sales environment.

In January 2006, Randy Speckman Design, LLC. was formed. I began operating as a full-time, free-lance designer from my home office where I specialize in web development, print design and marketing services. I'm proficient in Adobe CS3 Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign, Dreamweaver, Flash, Fireworks and Acrobat.

Currently living in Vista where I bought my first property; a condominium nestled around towering pine trees lining the nearby golf course. I still make time for other passions such as golf, tennis, softball and hanging out at the beach every now and then... but mostly then. Life is good.
